Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th June 2026
How did this happen?
The North of England has a rich history of shooting, hunting and fishing sports that are enjoyed by many. From professional land, pest and conservation managers to the enthusiastic weekend stalker, from the competitive competition shooter to the person who simply enjoys putting a few rounds down range with their friends, from the river angler to the lake fisherman and everyone in-between, we are all joined by a love and passion for country sports.
Often our time out with a rifle, shotgun or rod is solitary time. We lose ourselves in the moment, in the search for our quarry, that steel target, that elusive river giant. Yet we like nothing more than to come together to talk about our adventures, spending quality time with friends and other, likeminded folk, and it is at shows and fairs throughout the year that we celebrate our shared enjoyment of country sports. For this reason we believe it is important that the North of England should have the best show possible, hosted in the North and brought to you by a great team of passionate outdoors people who are from our region.
The Northern Country Sports Show is that show, and on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June 2026 at the Great Yorkshire Show Ground in Harrogate. You are invited to the first show of its kind to be seen in the United Kingdom.
Event organisers Simon and Christian had this to say, "We both come from the North of England and attend shooting and hunting shows all over the country, both as exhibitors and paying punters. For us, a good show will have all the familiar brands, companies and retailers, and some that we've never seen before! Because our enjoyment of country sports is wide ranging, we look forward the most to those shows that have lots of variety, and though we aren't anglers ourselves, when a good acquaintance of ours who is also a keen fisherman suggested a combined shooting and fishing show we immediately knew it was a great idea and the type of show we'd also love to attend! We like to try new things, so shows that provide that opportunity are big favourites of ours.
"Recently, when relaxing at the end of a show with a beer and chatting with friends, we kept hearing the same thing: Shows are getting too expensive. It's turning people away. Every year there are less exhibitors and less people visiting.
" Well we want to reverse that trend, and so when we heard our favourite show in the North of England was moving to the South, leaving a big gap in the North's event calendar, we thought to ourselves, we should host next year's show, and when we do, we'll prioritise making it affordable for everyone. Get the pricing right for our exhibitors and visitors and both will return to Harrogate. Then, together, we will cement The Northern Country Sports Show as the event that everyone marks first on their calendar."
In our mind there was no question that the historic spa town of Harrogate was the perfect location for The Northern Country Sports Show. In the heart of Yorkshire it sits at the centre of the North and also at the centre of the United Kingdom. We're calling this a Northern show yet in reality it is a show for all of the UK. Harrogate, with its rich history and Victorian architecture is a destination in of itself. Nestled in the Vale of York, between the Pennines and the North York Moors and with the ancient cities of Richmond and York just on the doorstep, there is so much to see and do that you may well wish to make a full weekend or even week of it! Come to the show for a day, camp out or stay at one of the many AirBnB's or hotels, and then visit the many attractions of this stunningly beautiful part of England.
Whilst at the show you can leave the entertainment to us. The Great Yorkshire Show Ground, with its main halls, rolling countryside and lakes, has all the amenities you can expect at a large event to ensure you are comfortable and well looked after.
The show will cover everything you can possibly imagine and some things you might not! So keep an eye out for more info and we'll look forward to June 2026 when we can welcome you to The Northern Country Sports Show!
